Oregon CE Requirements

Oregon Board of Chiropractic Examiners License Renewal Requirements consist of different requirements depending on the length of time a chiropractor has been practicing. However, all hours must be completed by the end of the licensee’s birthday month each year.

CE Requirements for First Year Chiropractors:


  • 20 hours of CE must be completed
  • Four hours of Over-The-Counter (OTC) medications
  • Two hours of evidence-based outcomes management (EBOM)(Reading the OBCE’s Educational Manual of Evidence-Based Chiropractic DOES NOT fulfill this requirement)

CE Requirements for Second Year Chiropractors:


  • 20 hours of CE must be completed
  • Seven of those hours must address Pain Management

    - Six hours of Pain Management education

    - One hour of Oregon-specific training by the Pain Management Commission of Oregon

CE Requirements for All Other Chiropractors:


  • 20 hours of general CE for Regular Active (all may be taken online)
  • Six hours of CE for Senior Active
  • Cultural Competence CE is encouraged but not required
